We spoke to Philip Van Wrede, Head of Supply Chain Management, Material Protection Products at Lanxess and Thomas Mueller Kirschbaum, Senior Vice President for R&D, Technology and Supply Chain at Henkel ahead of LogiChem in 2010 to hear their thoughts on the current chemical supply chain market and in particular, which key trends look set to impact the industry for the next twelve months.

Now in its 10th year, LogiChem 2011 will be the event's tenth anniversary and an opportunity for the most senior chemical supply chain & global logistics directors from the European chemicals community to come together once again share experiences, make new contacts and benchmark the latest chemical supply chain initiatives.

Not only will LogiChem 2011 be a chance for the chemical industry to reminisce about the last ten years but an opportunity to shape the next decade. To celebrate a decade of LogiChem, there will be an exciting three day programme filled with networking opportunities in our new location, Antwerp.

  • 4. Pre-Conference Supply Chain Network Design Focus Day Twelve months on from the last LogiChem, confidence across the chemicals industry has risen but the continued focus of global chemical companies remains on improving working capital, increasing end-to-end efficiency through closer customer and supplier positioning and driving cost out of the supply chain. Supply chain network design has emerged as a strategic tool to help companies meet demand levels, improve overall corporate performance and remain competitive in the global market place. A successful network design strategy will enable companies to drive performance at every link in the chain - from transportation, distribution, warehousing, demand planning and more. The Supply Chain Network Design Focus Day will showcase best-practice case studies in streamlining infrastructure and organisational design, optimising modelling and forecasting techniques, developing performance metrics and improving customer and supplier collaboration, while reducing costs and improving value. Led by supply chain experts from world-renowned organisations like Dow Chemical, Diversey, Monsanto, Clariant and Solutia, interactive presentations will cover every stage of network design from strategic planning to implementation. What Will You Learn? • Create a demand-flexible, cost-effective supply chain network • Harmonise internal processes around a smarter, global network design • Balance customer service with the need to drive down costs and generate value • Develop an analytical framework for the design of sustainable supply chain networks • Key performance metrics to increase performance improvement See the Focus Day agenda for more information AttenD LogiCheM 2011 AnD heAr FroM ProMinent sPeAkers, inCLuDing: E’S EUROP CHEMIC 10 ER AL TH S GE UP TO Celebrate Supply Chain PL NG YC EARS OF BRINGI HAIN COMMUNIT • Mary Scheibner, Global Supply Chain Director, BASF Excellence At The 10 Y • Rob Kiefer, Supply Chain Operations Director EMEA, Dow LogiChem 2011 Y 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY Chemical • Theo Zwygers, VP Supply Chain Europe, Asia and Middle East, Tenth Anniversary Dinner Lyondell Basell Join your peers, colleagues and industry partners at THE • Guillermo Fumero, Head of Global Supply Chain TLP, Clariant logistics and supply chain event of the year - the LogiChem International tenth anniversary dinner, hosted by TDG.
