- About Pat Farenga published Growing Without Schooling magazine, the first publication about homeschooling and unschooling, founded by John Holt in 1977, until 2001, when it ceased publication. Pat continues Holt’s work, publishing books and articles about learning without attending school, as well as addressing local, national, and international audiences and media about the topic. Pat’s recent work includes writing the homeschooling entry for Elsevier’s International Encyclopedia of Education (2010) and delivering the keynote speech at an international homeschooling research conference at the Universidad Nacional in Bogota, Colombia (2009).
