    • 2. Everyone Makes Mistakes2 Samuel 11:1-3 (NKJV) 1It happened in the spring ofthe year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, andall Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammonand besieged Rabbah. But David remained atJerusalem. 2Then it happened one evening thatDavid arose from his bed and walked on the roof ofthe king’s house. And from the roof he saw awoman bathing, and the woman was very beautifulto behold. 3So David sent and inquired about thewoman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”
    • 3. Everyone Makes MistakesWe use David as our choice of characters becausemuch of who David was and is correlates to us aschildren of God. David was “chosen” like we areand his “chosen-ness” has more to do with who hewas, not what he did. If this be true, then hismistakes as well as our mistakes do not destroy our“chosen” status, however; our mistakes do causedamage, delays, and potentially death. As we lookat one of David’s more prominent mistakes, let’salso look at ways that we can learn, grow, andsubsequently limit the mistakes that are availablefor us to make.
    • 4. Everyone Makes Mistakes David = “chosen” Romans 15:4-7 (NKJV) 4For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
