  • This slide is to emphasize the complexity of coordination. There are so many actors and the scene is dynamic.
  • This is where it starts. Too often we are disconnected. Workers fly in and out. 8 weeks in a crisis setting is long! Try to run a professional company like this….
  • Why this comparison? Because to often local organisations see the internationals as a block bulldozering into their world
  • The complaints keep coming that local organisations have no say in coordination meetings. How to change this?
  • Let both sides focus on what they are good at. (smaller) NGOs on grass roots support / flexibility. UN on coordination, government level representation. Good things happened here but there is plenty room for improvement.
  • The strength of the government is different in every country (and setting)
