The Wellness Assessment for Youth to Get Organized! April 9, 2011 Nancy Brown, PhD The WAY2GO! Project was supported by a grant from The Health Trust. The Health Trust is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance health and wellness in Silicon Valley.

So where are we today?
We had three high schools (Andrew Hill, Mt. Pleasant and Saratoga), multiple youth advisors, and assorted supporters pilot test the WAY2GO! (N=193)
99 (51%) were ages 11 - 15
84 (44%) were ages 16-20
10 (5%) were aged 21+
67% were females
33% were males
23% were white
77% were not

The Good News
From the baseline participants, we learned:
70% had seen a doctor in the previous year when they were not sick;
70% reported drinking coffee or energy drinks less than three days a week; and
69% reported not being sexually active.
In one month they set up 345 activities at Vive, were tracking 72 things, and had received 3,002 reminders to do things like eat less junk food, watch less TV, get more sleep, and not procrastinate, in addition to drink more water, do sit ups, read more, take study breaks, and get more exercise!

Available Now
The WAY2GO! went live 3/31/11 and is available without cost ( http://www.pamf.org/way2go ) to anyone that wants to use it as an individual or as part of a group - school, after school program, faith-based community, counseling practice. We can provide aggregated reports to groups that request a login from [email_address] .
