  2. 2. Week 1 : The Humility Choice: Realize I'm not God, admit I'm powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable. Matthew. 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdon of heaven.
  3. 3. <ul><li>Week 2: The Hope Choice: </li></ul><ul><li>Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me change. </li></ul><ul><li>Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Week 3: The Commitment Choice: </li></ul><ul><li>Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control. </li></ul><ul><li>Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. </li></ul>

  10. 10. <ul><li>Romans 12:19-21 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: &quot;It is mine to avenge; I will repay,&quot; says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: &quot;If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.&quot; 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. </li></ul>
  11. 11. David’s Story 1 Samuel 24:4 The men said, &quot;This is the day the Lord spoke of when he said to you, 'I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.' &quot;Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
  12. 12. 5 Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe. 6 He said to his men, &quot;The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord's anointed, or lift my hand against him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.&quot;
  13. 13. 7 With these words David rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way.
  14. 14. 8 Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, &quot;My lord the king!&quot; When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. Humility ____________
  15. 15. 9 He said to Saul, &quot;Why do you listen when men say, 'David is bent on harming you'? 10 This day you have seen with your own eyes how the Lord delivered you into my hands in the cave. Loyalty ____________
  16. 16. 10 Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, 'I will not lift my hand against my master, because he is the Lord's anointed.' 11 See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. Now understand and recognize that I am not guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life.
  17. 17. 12 May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. ____________ Upright

  22. 22. 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
  23. 23. 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed…
  24. 24. 2 Corinthians 6:10 …sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
  25. 25. 2 Timothy 2:12 …if we endure, we will also reign with him. Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. In the next world:
