As reported by NYC.gov, “ZoLa (The Zoning and Land Use Application) is the Department of City Planning’s (DCP) web-based Geographical Information Systems (GIS) application that provides the public with up-to-date zoning and related information for New York City. ZoLa is a collaboration between the departments of City Planning and Information Technology and Telecommunications.”
Zoning information and regulations regarding Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island can be found on ZoLa. A user can display a variety of features on the map by selecting the “Show Zoning & Related Data on Map” panel. The features are organized into zoning, other zoning designations, environmental requirements, waterfront, land use, other program areas, landmark, and administrative. Information can be accessed for geographic searches through address searches, Borough searches, intersection searches, and places of interest searches.
