5. Radiation therapy (or radiotherapy ) is the medical use of ionizing radiation as part of cancer treatment to control malignant cells. It is the use of high energy X-rays and similar rays to treat the disease. This therapy can be administered externally via ‘external beam radiotherapy’ (EBRT) or internally via ‘brachytherapy’. For cancer treatment, other than skin cancer, Linear Accelerator machine is used. Nelika Bhattacharya, S hankhajit kar and Praveen Kumar (KLS )

7. Chemotherapy is a kind of treatment that uses drugs to attack cancer cells. It is called a "systemic treatment" since the drug, entering through the blood stream, travels throughout the body and kills cancer cells at their sites. Chemotherapeutic drugs are chemically designed to target cells that are dividing and growing rapidly. Once they reach the cancer cells, they act to retard their growth, eventually resulting in their destruction. Chemotherapy is decided on the basis of the type of cancer.
