Methodology PGi commissioned StrategyOne, an applied research consulting firm, to conduct a three-question custom online survey among: Small-Business Owners and Decision-Makers Sample size: n=500 Owners and decision-makers at U.S. companies with 5 to 99 employees IT Decision-Makers Sample size: n=500 IT manager-level+ at U.S. companies with 100 or more employees Interviews were conducted in March 2010. Margin of error for both the sample of small-business owners and decision-makers (500) and IT decision-makers (500) is + 4.2% at the 95% level of confidence. 3

Executive Summary of PGi Findings Business professionals highly value technology that lets them connect visually during meetings IT decision-makers consider Live Meeting or monitor-sharing to be the greatest technological innovation for business meetings over the past five years (64%), followed by video conferences (59%). And a quarter (24%) believe that web cams are an essential business meeting innovation. Small-business owners and decision-makers (SMBs) chose video conferences (46%) as the greatest technological innovation, followed by conference calls (41%) and Live Meeting or monitor-sharing (37%). 5

Executive Summary of PGi Findings All SMBs and IT decision-makers get frustrated by their co- meetings Both audiences cited having side conversations (69% SMBs, 72% IT decision-makers) and checking personal email (64% SMBs, 58% IT decision-makers) to be the most frustrating activities people engage in during meetings. Further, over half of SMBs report being frustrated when people (54%) or check sports scores (51%) while in a meeting. 6

Executive Summary of PGi Findings Yet, in spite of these frustrations, the majority of business professionals admit that they are usually focused on other items while in conference calls or meetings Three-quarters of IT decision-makers (73%) and 56% of SMBs admit that they usually multitask during conference calls or meetings. And 53% of IT decision-makers reveal that they always pay attention during conference calls or business meetings. However, most business professionals are adept at this balancing act, as only a third of IT decision-makers (34%) and a mere 21% of SMBs report having been conference call, when someone has asked them a question. 7
