  • 2. Who are we? We are PECAC!Not‐for‐ Members Volunteers Staff Profit 1 PT  Community  300 members  Volunteer  Administrator based and growing initiated and led (30 hrs a week!) Artists and  19,000 hours  Since 1979 contributed in  art supporters 2010
  • 3. What does PECAC do?  Promote the arts  Six major events  Member services  Incubate new initiatives  Student Arts Awards  Community Partnerships
  • 4. PECAC Signature Events
  • 5. Art in the County  Juried art show for County artists  Held at Picton Town Hall  Over 175 artists submit work  2600 visitors in June & July 2010
  • 6. CLIC: The Eastern Ontario Photography Show  First year in  2010 drew over  2000 visitors and  over 100 entries Photos: Tara Wilkinson
  • 7. PEC Jazz Festival  Internationally recognized  8500 visitors in 2010  Main Stage shows plus almost 50  satellite venues around PEC  Rising Young Star competition  Spring Restaurant performances  Youth Educational Program  All‐star Jazz Ensemble events  Summer Jazz on the Street
  • 8. PEC Studio and Gallery Tour  Over 100 local artists, plus  guest artists participate  Around 3000 people visited  studios around the County in  the 2010 tour
  • 9. PEC Music Festival  8th year of Internationally  Renowned Classical Music  Festival  Youth engagement with classical  music is a top priority  Young musicians concert  School concert  Family concert  1500 visitors in September 2010
  • 10. The Maker’s Hand  One of a Kind Show  40 artists and artisans from  Eastern Ontario  Attended by 2700 people in  November 2010
  • 11. Other PECAC Activities
  • 12. Paint the County  In partnership  with Arts on  Main Gallery  and Black  Prince Winery  Local artists  paint  on the  street for the  public!
  • 13. Picton Performances in the Park  In partnership with  the Picton BIA and  PEC Recreation,  Parks and Culture  Free performances  are held for the  public Sunday  afternoons in July  and August
  • 14. The Written Word  The County Reads  A Book in Every Child’s Hand  Children’s Book Bank  Prescription to Read  Partner in Authors Festival 
  • 15. Art in the Community  Art works by local artists  displayed in public spaces  Shire Hall (April 2011)  PELA CFDC Offices  EDO Offices  Picton Hospital (April  2011)  Local restaurants
  • 16. Artscene Weekly e‐Newsletter about cultural events in the County Sent to over 450 artists, arts enthusiasts, residents, and  businesses throughout the province Promotes local cultural and community events in the  County and province
  • 17. PECAC Incubates New Arts Initiatives Successes  Eastern Ontario Photography Show  The Written Word Working with  Milkweed: Helps children with  creativity workshops in schoolsWe help “hatch” new   Art in Motion: Promotes movement  arts initiatives! and dance for 50+ citizens
  • 18. Student Arts Awards $1000 award  For PEC student for  post‐secondary education in the arts 2010 Recipient: Brianna Gorsline $500 award  From Kiwanis, managed by PECAC,  for post‐secondary education in  the visual arts  2010 Recipient: Svenya Scherer
  • 19. Youth Awards $1000 award  For Rising Young Star at PEC Jazz Festival Opportunity to play on main stage with  international jazz musicians $100 award  For Rising Young Star at  County Fall Fair

Rent Relief for use of Municipal facilities:$2370 RequestArt in the County requests   Waiving the $570 rental fee  for use of the Picton Town  Hall from June 10 ‐ July 4,  2011The Maker’s Hand requests   Waiving the $1800 rental  fee for use of the  Community Centre from  November 3 ‐ 6, 2011
  • 30. Promotion and Advertising:  $2500 RequestStudio and Gallery Tour requests   $1700 to create permanent,  year‐round signs for 35 Studio  Tour member studios and  galleriesEastern Ontario Photography  Show requests   $800 for signs to advertise the  event across the region
  • 31. PECAC Core:$2500 Request The Arts Council  requests   $2500 to  complete a  study on the  economic  impact of the  arts in Prince  Edward County
