Health Tips & Benefits - Health Magazine for Healthy Living

 1. 1. 1.Unexplained weight loss 2. Persistent fever 3. Shortness of breath 4.Changes in mental state Disorientation, confused thinking, hallucinations or sudden aggressive behaviour 5 . New, or more severe, headaches (especially in those over age 50) 6.Short-term loss of vision, speech OR movement control 7.Compression in the chest. Health symptoms you should not ignore
 2. 2. To avoid contracting the disease *One should keep the premises free from rodents. *Food - both cooked and raw - should be kept covered at all times to avoid rodent infestation and contamination by rat's urine. *Water stagnation and piling up of garbage should not be allowed. *Well water should be disinfected using bleaching powder or chlorine tablets. *Avoid minor cuts and lacerations on the feet, through which the parasite may be contracted. *Avoid having a dip in canals and ponds, for they may be contaminated with rat's urine. *Pets should also be vaccinated. *Also wear footwear regularly. The bacteria gain entry into the body through breaks in the skin such as cuts, wounds, blisters and abrasions, or through the lining of the nose, throat or alimentary tract, when they come into contact with water contaminated by the organism.Contamination happens from the urine of the rats. Dreadful rat fever
 3. 3. Though other beverages like tea and soft drinks contain caffeine, coffee has the highest amount of caffeine. Usually a cup of coffee contains 100 to 150 mg of caffeine. Tea and soft drinks usually contain about 50 mg per cup or glass of approximately 200 ml. The caffeine in coffee acts as a stimulant, and the effect on the brain is maximum 30 to 60 minutes after drinking it. When the daily intake of caffeine exceeds 350 mg , the person may suffer from caffeine dependence. If the caffeine intake is stopped for a day, it usually results in a splitting headache. Symptoms of a higher level of caffeine addiction are leg pains, sweating, runny nose, yawning.Too much of coffee removes calcium from bones and lead to its depletion. Coffee beans contain many anti oxidants. Caffeine causes anxiety. Coffee the stimulant!
 4. 4. High heel Beware! Using high heeled footwear leads to many health issues…….
 5. 5. Myth: Brushing your teeth for a long interval will help them stay clean. Truth : Brushing is essential for keeping our teeth clean, but too aggressive brushing can cause damage to the enamel coat, actually making it wear off. Lengthy brushing also causes receding gums. Doctors say brush for a maximum of two minutes using circular motions. Myth: If You’re pregnant, you’re eating for two. Truth: Quality matters more than quantity. Eat plenty of quality foods, loaded with nutrients, and you’ll shower your growing baby with all the right ingredients. Try to eat 150 extra calories a day during the first trimester (the first three months) and around 300 extra calories a day during the second and third trimesters (the last six months). Myth buster
 6. 6. Healthy way of eating Pizza 1 . Avoid having colas and alcoholic beverages with your pizza. They add to the caloric intake. 2. The best option is to have a glass of fresh lemonade water that enables the digestion of protein. 3 . Avoid cheese-filled pizza bases -- they are rich in calories and add to the saturated fat content of the diet. 4 . Avoid pizzas with different meat combinations. Stick to only one kind of meat option. 5 . A thin and crisp pizza topped with vegetables is a good choice. 6 . Avoid French fries as a side order. Choose a low calorie salad, maybe a tossed salad. 7 . When you have pizza during the day or as an evening snack, go very light on dinner.
 7. 7. People with a hole in the heart are born with it, which is called a congenital condition. Whilst the baby is forming in the womb, the chambers of the heart develop. In people with a hole in the heart, the wall between the chambers might not form properly, leaving a hole. Your heart has two sides, separated by an inner wall called the septum. With each heartbeat, the right side of the heart receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs. The left side of the heart receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to the body. The septum prevents mixing of blood between the two sides of the heart. A hole in the septum can allow blood to pass from the left side of the heart to the right side. This means that oxygen-rich blood can mix with oxygen-poor blood, causing the oxygen-rich blood to be pumped to the lungs a second time. So the heart has to strain more in pumping more blood. Hole in the heart Normal heart Heart with hole
 8. 8. Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers—the systolic pressure (as the heart beats) over the diastolic pressure (as the heart relaxes between beats). The measurement is written one above with the systolic number on top and the diastolic number on the bottom Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of arteries. When systolic and diastolic blood pressures fall into different categories, the higher category should be used to classify blood pressure level. For example, 160/80 mm Hg would be stage 2 hypertension (high blood pressure). Know your blood pressure
 9. 9. * The baby's heart rate becomes irregular. * The baby's body is in an abnormal position. * The baby's head is face-up, instead of face-down. * There is a problem with the placenta, or the placenta is born first, cutting off the baby's oxygen supply. * The Patient has had a previous caesarian section birth. * The baby has a health problem, and will need immediate medical attention after birth. * The baby is very large, or if pelvis is abnormal or small. When is normal delivery not possible?

The mother has a serious health problem, like diabetes, heart or lung disease, or high blood pressure, and need induced labor, which can have adverse affects.

The mother has a primary herpes simplex infection in genital tract, since the infection could be passed to baby, leading to serious disease.

A loop in the umbilical cord or prolapse, and becomes compressed, decreasing the baby's oxygen supply.

There are twins or multiples.

The cervix stops dilating or the baby stops progressing down the birth canal and all attempts to stimulate uterine contractions to get things moving have failed Reasons for cesarean surgery

 11. 11. This move will strengthen the deep muscles of your back, your rear shoulders, abs, gluteals and hamstrings; stengthening these muscles will have a dramatic effect on your posture. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent, holding a weight in each hand, arms straight by your side, thumbs pointing forward (A) Pull in your abdominals and hinge forward from your hips, until your torso is almost parallel to the floor. Allow your arms to hang from your shoulders, elbows slightly bent, palms facing in (B). Keep head and neck aligned with your spine. • While maintaining this position, squeeze your shoulder blades toward your spine and lift your arms up and out to the sides as you exhale, keeping wrists straight, until elbows are almost level with your shoulders (C). Inhale and slowly lower your arms, then return to starting position as you exhale; repeat. Do one to three sets of eight to 15 repetitions, three times per week. Use 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms dumbbells. Rest for 30 seconds between sets. A ARM EXERCISES Bent-over straight arm fly
 12. 12. "Young man, do you think you can handle a variety of work?" "I ought to be able to. I've had 12 different jobs in four months." "What do use for washing dishes?“ "Oh, I tried many things but found my husband best. " “ My wife doesn't know what she wants." " You're lucky. My wife does." “ Has there been any insanity in your family?" "Yes, doctor. My husband thinks he's the boss." Look, guide, here are some lion tracks." "Good. You see where they go and I'll find out where they came from." But the psychiatrist really helped me a lot. I would never answer the phone, because I was afraid. Now I answer it whether it rings or not. When I told the doctor about my loss of memory, he made me pay in advance. My friend has a fine watch dog. At any suspicious noise he wakes the dog and the dog begins to bark.
 13. 13. 3 missionaries and 3 obedient but hungry cannibals have to cross a river using a 2-man rowing boat. If on either bank cannibals outnumber missionaries the missionaries will be eaten. How can everyone cross safely? CANNIBAL and MISSIONARY -> <- MISSIONARY CANNIBAL and CANNIBAL -> <- CANNIBAL MISSIONARY and MISSIONARY -> <- CANNIBAL and MISSIONARY MISSIONARY and MISSIONARY -> <- CANNIBAL CANNIBAL and CANNIBAL -> <- CANNIBAL CANNIBAL and CANNIBAL -> A 24" x 24" square metal plate needs to be fixed by a carpenter on to a wooden board. The carpenter uses nails all along the edges of the square such that there are 25 nails on each side of the square. Each nail is at the same distance from the neighboring nails. How many nails does the carpenter use? The four corners of the square have one nail each. Each side of the square now requires 23 nails (excluding the four corners). Thus, total number of nails used = 4 + (4 × 23) = 96. Brain exercise For answers - CLICK
