Evaluation: Part 4

  1. 1. I used variety of different softwares through out the researchstage such as.... This was one of the first stage in research whereby I had to go through in order to produce a music video, by visiting this website, www.unsigned.com this site allowed me to find a suitable artist and get an idea of how the music video will look like and be based on through some artist research. This site holds a variety of different artists and bands including their information such as contacts and their events, thus making my job easier as i can choose an artist based on what type of genre I prefer and their amount of experience
  2. 2. This search engine is widely used by many and people have the opportunity to input information in all types if things. This site enabled me to do some research on the type of music industry that’s out the there such as: EMI, Universal, Sony etc... And which music industry will best suit my chosen artist. YouTube played an important role onWord Press is a blogger site and the creation of my music video as Icould be use it for almost anything. gained some useful knowledge onThis site enables me to type up how the music video for my genreeverything I have done and should meet or challenge theproduced from the first stage up conventions of similar music videountil the final stage such as research of the same genre.on my artist.
  3. 3. Hotmail enabled my group and I to keep in touch with eachother as well as the artist whenever it was necessary wesent each other ideas on how that music video would looklike and how to film each scene as well as scheduling datesto shoot. This site is easy and quick to use and my groupand I made a good use of it by keeping each other updated Through the use of Microsoft Word, where i produced a treatment based on the lyrics of the chosen song where I could quickly update, edit whenever I wanted to and save documents on my USB or send it via email.
  4. 4. Mobile phones also played a key rolein the planning stage where we keptregular contact within the group aswell as the artist where wescheduled filming shoot. For me, itallowed me to write down ideaswhenever possible. Ultimatelyallowing me to send what I wrotedown via message to the rest of mygroup. Mobile phones was a veryconvenient hardware for my groupand I as it is not time consuming noris it difficult to utilize.
  5. 5. I used Photoshop for all the work that is to be included in my digipack such as: CD cover, booklet and an advert. This software holds many different types of tools and effects which I made use of. However, this software was tricky to use I was not familiar with the tools. Nonetheless, through practice and time I started to understand how to use it. This programme enable me to manipulate and enhance my pictures to an extent where I was happy with.During the editing stage my group and I usedFinal Cut Pro as it specialises in editing tape andvideo. This software enabled us to professionallyedit our music video by cutting down the tape tosmall pieces as well as presenting us with a widerange of effects which we made use of.
  6. 6. A digital camera was used to take several pictures of locations where we decided to shoot our scenes. It had a limit of 63 pictures and had a high quality lens which is why the pictures come out looking professionally and clear. We could also see things clearly that we couldnt have seen to our naked eyes. The camera also had a screen where we saw how the pictures turned out as well as giving us the choice to delete it is necessary as well as other choices such as flash, black and white, mosaic etc.We also used a video camera and unlike a digitalcamera this type of camera enabled us to record ourscenes where our chosen locations where. This cameraallowed to record fast and steadily with the use of thetripod. This camera captured all the scenes needed toproduce the music video and it also enabled us torecord over previous scenes when we werent satisfiedwith it
  7. 7. The DV tape is a storage device thats placed inside the camera to store the captured footage. This then made it possible to be read on the computer enabling us to chose and edit our scenes. This is a camera reflector which was usedwhen there was not much sun around thetime we were shooting our scenes. Thistool allowed to receive some kind oflight, thus allowing us to get on withfilming without the need to reschedule dueto inconvenient weather. This Apple Mac computer was the only computer that was available for my group with the editing software (Final Cut Pro). Both the Mac and the software was difficult to use however, in time we learnt how to use it sufficiently.
  8. 8. YouTube was used again. This time it was for uploading the finish product, the music video whereby the viewers have the chance to like/dislike and comment.Word Press was also used again. This time toupload and update all my finish work, thisenabled my peers, teachers and others to viewmy work whenever they wanted without the useof restrictions. This site allowed me to receive some public feedback on my final project by simply uploading them on this site in order to gain some exposure and recognition.
  9. 9. Facebook is a social network that has over millions of users worldwide. This site benefitted me as I can send friends a YouTube link to the music video and asked them to comment as well as giving the music video exposure it also gives them the opportunity to share the post to other people, thus, ultimately, leading to more views and recognition as well as reaching a wider audience. This programme enabled me to producequestionnaires as well as graphs and chartsbased on feedbacks and questionnaire results. This software is easy to use. PowerPoint was used to present and evaluate my project in a multimedia presentation. Simply put this programme allowed me to use a wide range of effects to present my work by combining pictures and text to grab ones attention
  10. 10. The PC played the main role in the making of my project, through the many use of programmes it held as well as the internet enabling me to access my blog and share my work with others. It also allowed me to access my work almost anywhere. My USB stick allowed me easy access to my workwhenever I was in the go, I had the opportunity toaccess my work whenever I wanted to and whereverI was. This made the evaluation stage easy as Icould edit and access my work anywhere.
