Introduction • The Openbravo Community awards have been organized and sponsored by Openbravo to honor individuals and companies for their outstanding contributions to the Openbravo ERP and POS projects. • The process had two phases: • The Openbravo community nominated the candidates for the awards • During two weeks people could vote on these previously selected candidates • We had 28 nominees and more than 1000 votes • Today we are presenting the winners of the awards! Community Awards - Individual Best Quality Assurance • Ville Lindfors – Oustanding involvement in the quality assurance process for Openbravo ERP • Ronny G – Reported issues for Openbravo POS while following changes in the development branch of the code repository of Openbravo POS • Juan Reyes – Contributed to Openbravo ERP 2.50 alpha Releases and participated in the first 8 alpha releases, executing the smoke test • Naveen Chanda – Strong participation in the Openbravo ERP 2.40 alpha 2and .35 MP4 testing cycles on a number of platforms and actively participated in Openbravo ERP forums • Jignesh – Strong contribution in testing and documenting Openbravo ERP on OpenSolaris, as well as current work on load testing Openbravo ERP on that platform • Paulo Leandro – High level of participation in the Openbravo ERP 2.35 MP1, 2.40 alpha and 2.35 MP4 testing cycles, helping Openbravo prove those releases in a number of platforms while validating the functionality Page 4

Community Awards - Individual Best Localizer • Jens Wilke – Created the first version of Openbravo2PO during 2007 – Lead the first effort to fully translate Openbravo ERP into German language, also presented Openbravo ERP at LinuxTag. • Mohammad Jaffar Fahmi – Translated Openbravo POS to Arabic, the most popular locale for Openbravo POS – Has overcome technical challenges related to translating Openbravo POS to an RTL language • Kenzo Repole – Localization leader for Saudi Arabia’s Openbravo ERP translation – Has been instrumental in developing support for right to left Languages, which has become part of the Openbravo ERP core for release 2.50 Page 6
    7. Community Awards - Individual Best Localizer Mohammad Jaffar Fahmi –Translated Openbravo POS to Arabic, the most popular locale for Openbravo POS –Has overcome technical challenges related to translating Openbravo POS to an RTL language Page 7

Community Awards - Individual Best Developer • Ben Sommerville – Translated Openbravo ERP to Australia – Discovered a security bug and attached a patch to correct it • Ronny G – Developed several snippets for Openbravo ERP and published these in the Openbravo wiki – Provided support in the forums • Ville Lindfors – Has contributed many commits to the Openbravo ERP core code line, both in terms of defect fixes and improvements, with particular emphasis on security and performance • Andrej Svininykh – Developed several features for Openbravo POS and integrated some new devices like scales and receipt printers Page 8

Community Awards - Individual Best Support Participant • Miguel Marquez – Provided 115 forum posts in 2008, most of them helping newcomers to Openbravo ERP • Jimm – Very active participant in Openbravo POS forums with more than 350 detailed answers • Ville Lindfors – Has contributed many commits to the Openbravo ERP core code line, both in terms of defect fixes and improvements, with particular emphasis on security and performance • Enric Alegre – Strong participation in the Openbravo ERP forums with 165 messages during 2008 – Collaboration with the Academia Program in Valencia to teach Openbravo Page 10

Community Awards - Technology Best Localization • Amorebieta-Etxanoko Udala – Sponsored the Euskara language translation for Openbravo POS • Mancomun.org – Initiative from the government of Galicia to promote free software – Have localized Openbravo ERP (partially) and Openbravo POS to Galician language • CBT Open – Developed the withholding tax functionality for Openbravo ERP in release 2.40 as part of the Italian localization • Kelyon – Active contributor to the Openbravo ERP Italian translation and localization • Apal Informatique – Completed the Romanian translation and localization for Openbravo ERP 2.40 Page 13
    14. Community Awards - Technology Best Localization Amorebieta-Etxanoko Udala Sponsored the Euskara language translation for Openbravo POS Page 14

Community Awards - Technology Best Implementation • Open Sistemas – Deployed the largest Openbravo POS implementation for Bocatta, a fast food chain in Spain with more than 60 locations • Conasa – Participated, developed and installed a vertical solution for religious services based on Openbravo ERP 2.40 with PostgreSQL • Microgenesis – Completed complex development with highly challenging technological and business requirements consisting of replacing an SAP R/3 installation for Openbravo ERP • Qualian Technologies – Implementation of Openbravo ERP in Vaishnovi Infrastructure, a client with more than 100 users and 1000 employees in India Page 15
