  • 2. 2008 - 2011 <ul><li>2008 Carlow had 3 PBXs – 2 x Nortel 1 x Alcatel </li></ul><ul><li>First Asterisk in Carlow was installed in 2008 </li></ul><ul><li>Reused old server for initial install </li></ul><ul><li>Polycom Handsets </li></ul><ul><li>Grown on a phased basis – now 120 extensions </li></ul><ul><li>2011 Carlow has 2 PBXs – 1 x Nortel 1 x Asterisk </li></ul>
  • 3. Where? <ul><li>Arts Center </li></ul><ul><li>Area Office </li></ul><ul><li>Firestation </li></ul><ul><li>Library </li></ul><ul><li>Some offices County Buildings </li></ul><ul><li>Tokyo Office </li></ul>

Whats Next? <ul><li>Replace Nortel with complete Asterisk solution </li></ul><ul><li>Asterisk has proven to be extremely reliable with 120 extensions already in use </li></ul><ul><li>Cost effective </li></ul><ul><li>New solution is fully redundant </li></ul><ul><li>LA Staff can manage system for day to day issues </li></ul><ul><li>Additional features </li></ul>
  • 5. <ul><li>Final proposal with County Manager </li></ul><ul><li>Completing testing on final build of Asterisk Cluster </li></ul><ul><li>Detailed Project Plan completed </li></ul><ul><li>Proposed to reuse Meridian IP Phones </li></ul><ul><li>Aim to complete rollout before end of April 2011 </li></ul>
