Investment Funds Open Data on renewable energy to
monitor how public institutions achieve their goals for
renewable energy and climate change.

Translates data into visualizations
Easy to understand language
Public online data portal
ENERGYzip uses Open data to enable
stakeholders (EU citizens, institutions,
NGOs, media) to understand the
correlation between ESIFs and Eurostat
statistics on renewable energy, to see
how well Member States are using funds.
7. HOWITWORKS
Share of renewables as gross final energy consumption by Country:
LEGENDA:
Background intensity: funds.
Bubbles: effectiveness.
Example: if a Country has dark
background but a small bubble,
maybe there is something wrong
or the policy is not effective.
12. OURGOAL
Stakeholders can easily monitor the effectiveness of regional distribution and
implementation of funds and the efficiency of renewable energy policies.
By looking at the maps, for example, they can instantly see if something is
wrong with one particular Country.
“Are they using the funds correctly?”
ENERGYzip gives alerts based on reliable data, enhancing transparency and
pushing Member States to narrow the gaps between resources and needs.
13. FUTUREDEVELOPMENTS
Public, transparent and eye-catching online platform.
Different levels of complexity: from Member States to municipalities, bridging
European level and regional data sources.
Real-time updating/monitoring data and alerts.
Citizens engagement (ex. sharing customized visualization on social media).
