  • 2.  Indie – Short for independent rock.  Indie artists stay clear independent of major labels or mainstream music.Indie
  • 3.  Indie started out in the mid 1980’s as alternative radio music.  Originated from 1960’s garage, 1970’s punk and 1980’s post punk.History of Indie
  • 4.  Indie – Indie genre is alternative music which tends to be the more popular of the two.  Indie Rock – The less mainstream music which is not as popular as Indie.Indie and Indie Rock?
  • 5.  Started out as alternative music, however its started to change as its not regarded as more experimental and weird.  Despite this British Indie sounds less emo and more like the typical mainstream music.Evolution of Indie
  • 6.  NME – produce by IPC media. NME became more indie during the 1990’s. However they have featured Bombay Bicycle Club recently as well as The Wombats, both successful Indie bands.  Q Magazine – produced by Bauer Media Group. Q feature many indie artists and bands.  Kerrang! – produced by Bauer Media Group, however Kerrang! focus more on rock and indie rock rather than Indie.Indie Magazines?
