Thethermometer measures temperature from -50 to 70 degrees C (-58 to 158 degrees F, with an accuracy of + or-1 degree C. The 1 inch by 2.5 inch bottle probe is filled with a nontoxic glycol solution that is generallyrecognized to be safe around food. The bottle and glycol solution insulate the sensor from sudden temperaturechanges. The probe is attached with a 10 ft. micro cable, which can be shut in a refrigerator door withoutcreating a gap. The thermometer memory stores minimum/maximum values and has a temperature alarm thatcan be programmed to indicate audibly and visually when the temperature exceeds a maximum or minimumvalue. The alarm will continue to sound even when the temperature returns to the set range, until it is turnedoff. This thermometer is traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology, indicating that it iscalibrated to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 levels.
