LEARNING OBJECTIVES:After following this training you will be able to: Create new Power Point presentation. Change the theme of a presentation. Add text to your presentation. Add new slides to your presentation. Add images to a presentation. Animate the transition between slides. Create a slide show for presentation.
  • 3. STEP ONE: CREATING A NEW POWERPOINTPRESENTATION• Click on the Windows Start Icon• Select All Programs• Select Microsoft Office• Select Microsoft PowerPointWindows Start Icon
  • 4. STEP TWO: CHANGING THE THEME• Select the DesignTab• Select the AspectThemeStudent Note:Many other Themes arelisted for selection in theThemes Ribbon, andwhen you hover yourcursor over the selectionPowerPoint will changeyour active presentation toshow you a preview ofyour selection.
  • 5. STEP THREE: ADDING TEXTYour first slide is called aTitle Slide, a type ofpremade slide whichincludes two premadetext boxes. By simplyclicking in these areas wecan add new text.Title Text BoxSubtitle Text Box• Click in the Title Textbox and type:Emergency Action Plan:MCC RTC• Click in the Subtitle TextBox and Type: By: YourNameStudent Note:Text modification is also possible. Many attributes including textcolor, size, font and shadowing can be modified.

STEP FOUR: ADDING A NEW SLIDE• Select the Home Tab• Click the New Slidebutton• A new Slide will bedisplayed in the slide listand on your currentediting screen.• On your new slide, in theTitle Text Box Type:Emergency Action Plan:First FloorStudent Note:There are many useful premade Slides in the New Slide Drop Down box.Just select the small arrow next to the New Slide button.
  • 7. STEP FIVE: INSERTING IMAGES• Select the ‘Insert Picturefrom File’ Icon• A dialog window forfile selection willappear. Select theincluded fileRTCFirstFloor.jpg toinsert it into yourpresentation.• Follow the sameprocess to create twonew slides for floors twoand three.• Type the titles for floorstwo and three.• Insert fileRTCSecondFloor.jpgand RTCThirdFloor.jpgonto the new slides.
  • 8. STEP SIX: ADDING TRANSITIONS• Select theTransitionsTab.• Select theRevealTransition.• Select the‘Apply ToAll’ button.Student Note:There are also many different transition types. These transitions candramatically change the way your slideshow behaves.
  • 9. STEP SEVEN: CREATING A SLIDE SHOWPRESENTATION (.PPS FILE)• Select the File tab.• Select ‘Save as’When the ‘Save As’ dialog boxappears, change your Saveas type to PowerPointShow(*.ppsx)
