Bacon is regestered with Emergency Response Chaplains CorpsONA-Commander@LIVE.COMSummaryPeace and proper closure have become increasingly important in today’s world and has always been asignificant part of all cultures and the way Operation Noah’s Ark conducts business.Operating with a strong sense of ethics and integrity we know it’s critical to maintaining trust and credibilitywith our supporters. families in need are given hope by the generosity of our donors, volunteers, employees, customers, vendors, partners, and the whole entire community. Our continued emphasis on ethics and integrity is one reason why we are considered a new leader in ourindustry and why we and others believe Operation Noah’s Ark is one of the best places to be.Strong business ethics and good judgment underlie the way Operation Noah’s Ark strives to conduct business atall times.Since the application of this section of the Internal Revenue code as a section 501 ( c) 3, Our future depends onthe honesty, fairness, and integrity brought to the job by every person in our organization, each of us have acritical role to play in its implementation.SpecialtiesAn understanding of our legal and ethical parameters enhances those ethics and judgment. This section in codeoutlines the broad principles of legal and ethical business conduct embraced by Operation Noah’s Ark. It is nota complete list of legal or ethical questions you might face in the course of business, and therefore, this codeand section must be applied using common sense and good judgment.ExperienceSection 501 (c)(13) of the Internal Revenue Code at Operation Noahs Ark CorporationFebruary 2012 - Present (2 months) Generally, a cemetery company or crematorium is not exempt if it issues preferred stock. However, it can still be exempt if the preferred stock was issued before November 28, 1978, or was issued after that date under a written plan adopted before that date. The adoption of the plan must be shown by the acts of the responsible officers and appear on the official records of the organization. The preferred stock issued either before November 28, 1978, or under a plan adopted before that date, must Page1
  • 2. meet all the following requirements. 1) The preferred stock entitles the holders to dividends at a fixed rate that is not more than the greater of the legal rate of interest in the state of incorporation or 8% a year on the value of the consideration for which the stock was issued. 2) The organizations articles of incorporation require: Chapter 4 Other Section 501(c) Organizations Page 47 a) That the preferred stock is retired at par as rapidly as funds become available from operations, and b) That all funds not required for the payment of dividends on or for the retirement of preferred stock be used by the company for the care and improvement of the cemetery property. Tax treatment of donations. Donations to exempt cemetery companies, corporations chartered solely for human burial purposes, and perpetual care funds (operated in connection with such exempt organizations) are deductible as charitable contributions on the donors federal income tax return. However, a donor may not deduct a contribution made for the perpetual care of a particular lot or crypt. Payments made to a cemetery company or corporation as part of the purchase price of a burial lot or crypt, whether irrevocably dedicated to the perpetual care of the cemetery as a whole or earmarked for the care of a particular lot, are also not deductible.Mission Statement at Operation Noahs Ark OrganizationFebruary 2012 - Present (2 months) MISSION STATEMENT: To provide burial and bereavement services and products to the underprivileged families who have suffered the loss of a loved one and who cannot afford the costs associated with services for the deceased. 2 recommendations available upon requestOpportunities at Operation Noahs Ark OrganizationFebruary 2012 - Present (2 months) Opportunities The number of disasters, poverty people deaths, and unemployment brings great need for the services of ONA. Red Cross and others are attending to the needs of the living and injured, but there is no organization addressing the needs of individual and familial bereavement and burial issues. There are also companies offering loans for mortuary, etc. benefits, but the bereaved have no means to repay and are further buried in debt trying to get closure over the deceased loved one.World-Wide Partnerships International Import and Export at Operation Noahs Ark EmergencyResponse Chapalins CorpsJanuary 2012 - Present (3 months) Page2
  • 3. Operation Noahs Ark has the stock pile of 200 caskets that are secured for the next disaster. Except for holders of preferred stock (discussed later), no person may have any interest in the net earnings of a tax-exempt cemetery company or crematorium. Therefore, if property is transferred to the organization in exchange for an interest in the organizations net earnings, the organization will not be exempt so long as that interest remains outstanding. An equity interest in the organization is an interest in the net earnings of the organization. However, an interest in the organization that is not an equity interest may still be an interest in the organizations net earnings. For example, a bond issued by a cemetery company that provides for a fixed rate of interest and also provides for additional interest payments based on the income of the organization is considered an interest in the net earnings of the organization. Similarly, a convertible debt obligation issued after July 7, 1975, is considered an interest in the net earnings of the organization. Operating a mortuary is not permitted. However, selling monuments, markers, vaults, and flowers solely for use in the cemetery is permitted if the profits from these sales are used to maintain the cemetery as a whole. 1 recommendation available upon requestWORLD-WIDE PEACE at Operation Noahs Ark CharityOctober 2011 - Present (6 months) My objectives, for "Operation Noahs Ark" is to utilize my skills, experience and creativity to promote stability, security as well as an environment that is fluid and upbeat where all levels of management consider it an honor to be accountable while being mindful and proud to be involved in such a noble cause. No part of the net earnings of your organization may inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual. Ordinary and necessary expenses in connection with the operation, management, maintenance, and improvement of the cemetery are permitted, as are reasonable fees for the services of a manager. Buying cemetery property. Payments may be made to amortize debt incurred to buy and, but may not be in the nature of profit distributions. You must show the method used to finance the purchase of the cemetery property and that the purchase price of the land at the time of its sale to the cemetery was not unreasonable. CREATOR FOR WORLD PEACE. URNAMEX is a Mexican company dedicated to the creation of handmade urns with the best insumos, compromised with the total satisfaction of our clients always with devotion to the values of respect and responsibility. In our company we decided to create a product that could have its own personality. We produce a variety of designs looking for one that was different to the ones that already existed in the business, one that had a unique presence as each person do. In base of this idea we developed the design and the process of fabrication that made each urn different; this is one of the reasons we had, to decide that the urns have to be handmade, this way each piece is cut, assembly, and polished individually. The inspiration for our urns was based in friends and their different personalities; sophisticated, elegant, simple, humble, fun, or unique. Whit time persons that acquired our product had their own comments and requests about what they would like to be reflected in each urn, this has help to evolve our designs, from the most simple to the most complicated. Additionally we have petitions from persons that want something more specific making the urn more personal, and companies that ask for a special design, unique for their funeral home. For the creation of our urns we use a variety of different woods with natural tones combine to complete each design, we do not use paint, only transparent wood finishing or natural wax to burst their natural beauty. The ONA Command Staff at IONA- Internal Command Board of DirectorsJuly 2001 - Present (10 years 9 months) Operation Noahs Ark Organization Emergency Response Contact List (2012) 1. • 6. Dear O.N.A. Supporters and active Internal Command members, I have included in this personal email a brief summary of what my immediate intentions are, my future goals and my mission and objectives with the organization Operation Noahs Ark (FEIN 91-2151249). As we are becoming a qualified and certified organization, I will be the overseer as Incident Commander for any common to catastrophic disaster, assisting the affected communities with funeral related products and other compassionate services for the deceased and their loved ones. My passion has always been to help the families involved, and to help them attain a sense of security and peace that will effectively allow proper closure. I intend to be an on-site operations incident commander and run an on-site incident command system (ICS). I am also proud to inform you that I have completed course IS100-b, Introduction to Incident Command Systems, and am now certified by the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA. My current focus is also become an active and certified disaster relief chaplain through the Emergency Response Chaplains Corps (ERCC). The organizations next step in 2012 is to present to the communities across the world with the 2012 PowerPoint to clearly define and fine-tune our objectives for Operation Noahs Arks. As our plans develop over the next few months, our objectives can become more clear and concrete. As incidents occur, we will be assisting affected communities and responding agencies across the world. In warm regards, Laura E. Bacon ONA-Incident Commander 7 recommendations available upon requestThe Vision to change the world. at Operation Noahs Ark CharityMay 1998 - Present (13 years 11 months) Founder and President O.N.A. Corporation Operation Noahs Ark began as a vision in 2001, shortly after I attended the funeral of a very close family friend. Brook was just only 19 when he was killed in a single car accident on his way home from finishing his first year term at Old Miss. The family, was grief stricken as, there were his many as 4000 close friends and associates tat attended this funeral in May of 1998. The funeral was the most beautiful event with gorgeous flowers, a handsome casket and a headstone that will last for eternity. Page6
  • 7. As I, sat at in the funeral service next to his mother, father and older sister and we all had celebrated his short but meaningful life, I found myself , thinking how fortunate this family was to be able to invest in this lovely service for a much-loved child. In the next days that followed, I was able to observe first hand how important the funeral rites were to the peace and proper closure in the mind of the family...seeing how much comfort the funeral service and the flowers and everything else really did provide. Over the following days and weeks, I couldnt help but to contrast this experience for what I imagined families that could not afford even the most meager funeral or bereavement services most need to experience. I couldnt get this contrast out of mind. 3 years from Brooks tragic in 1998 in 2001 Operation Noahs Ark was born. Some in the funeral industry have marked up their products and services as high as 350% above beginning cost associated , giving these indigent families even to the families with moderate income limited or no choices in their funeral arrangements. As, the founder and president of this one of a kind Charitable Organization, I am committed to giving these families the dignity and respect through the charities opportunity for allowing the comfort and closure following the passing of a loved one, that is not dependent on income or social class. 7 recommendations available upon requestOffice Admin and support staff at Allstate Insurance "Your In Good Hands"January 1998 - January 2000 (2 years 1 month) I was a director of office administration and seasoned a support staff member, My job is to assist the agents with new policy prospects and aid new clients home, auto, life, renters insurance. • 8. Honors and AwardsPRESS RELEASE ACE CASKETS LTD.Fifth Circuit Victory for ACE CASKETS LTD.February 2012 PRESS RELEASE: ACE Caskets, Jim Malamas and others score Big Win in long running Texas litigation. New Orleans, Louisiana, February 16, 2012: On February 9, 2012, ACE Caskets, Jim Malamas and the other defendants in long running litigation with The York Group, Inc. scored a major victory when the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the federal court in Houston, Texas did not have jurisdiction over the case and dismissed it. ACE Caskets, Jim Malamas and the other defendants, including one of its suppliers Wuxi Taihu Tractor Company, have spent years challenging a default judgment York obtained in July of 2007 in violation of the defendants due process rights. Throughout this time, York has aggressively sought to enforce the default judgment against casket companies in North America. The challenge to the default judgment now proceeds in the Houston, Texas state court where it originated. ACE Caskets and Jim Malamas have never wavered and have always remained confident in its belief that the default judgment York obtained is not valid and that ACE Caskets and the other defendants will prevail. The decision by the Fifth Circuit is an important victory and a big step toward righting a wrong. ACE Caskets and Jim Malamas will continue to vigorously defend their rights and looks forward to a complete victory in the state court. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACE Caskets and Jim Malamas may be reached at info@acefuneralproducts.com or toll free 888.998.1888Volunteer ExperienceFounder &President at Operation Noahs Ark CorporationJuly 2001 - Present (10 years 9 months) Peace and proper closure have become increasingly important in today’s world and has always been a significant part of all cultures and the way Operation Noah’s Ark conducts business. PublicationsOperation Noahs Ark steps in to help family with local funeral..Founder Laura Bacon February 22, 2011Authors: Laura Bacon Now in operating its service and donated products such as caskets, urns, flowers, headstones, donated airline miles, and online bereavement relief counseling ,and hold unique memorial and tributes to areas in the local and national communities across the world is now a listed non-profit public charity which has its corporate headquarters in the Ventura County California west coast area.Operation Noahs Ark is NOW 501(c)(3) tax exempt as of Friday!Laura BaconAuthors: Laura Bacon Ventura County Star A pending Ventura County Non-Profit Organization was “Blessed” with a Section 501 (c) (3) status tax exempt status. Operation Noah’s Ark (O.N.A.2001) Corporation is located in the Ventura County California area, had received its non-profit section 501 ( c) (3) tax exemption ,that is now operating as a publicly supported charity, The Letter of Exemption was filed and active in 2001 and organization was revived after a brief time period with a 3557 Reviver was requested by the Franchise Tax Board on March 2011. When Japan was tragically devastated the morning of March 11, 2011 at 9:11am Laura Bacon who is the co- founder of Operation Noahs Ark is also the charities current President on the board of Directors, Laura Bacon called, The Department of Treasury (IRS) and the Franchise Tax Board had expedited over the telephone with Bacon who was following up on its current pending reviver status. Bacon, was informed upon the departments opening and operating hours that once again is a public charity now listed as a current tax exempt status, after filing 2005, 2006, and 2007 forms of the 990 that was determined and requested by the IRS. The process was a short term application process. Bacons phone call with the IRS, was somewhat a shock to her unexpectedly determined she, was expecting a longer time period, figuring the grace period would be around 40-60 more days from the last week’s filing. Normal, a pending grace period can take a minimum of 60 days and it could even take even up to 3 and even 10 years to get this type of “Blessing” from the Federal and State. It only had taken this entity a little over one week to regain and get its exempt status back. This really is, a unique and rare circumstance in the not-for profit Industry. Operation Noah’s Ark (O.N.A.2001) charity can now accept donations for a 100% fair market value as a 100% write off to any donor. Page10
