Easy authoring system for creating courses. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Creative Commons </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Allows authors to share their educational materials for free use and re-use via the world wide web. </li></ul></ul>

Activities: Enabling access to the VOCW content <ul><li>Equipment - Servers </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Placed at 15 universities </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>14 more universities dedicated their own servers to the VOCW effort </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>All became members of the VOCW community </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Worked as cache servers to make use of the high speed local area network (LAN) on the campuses </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Donated to these universities by VEF upon the transfer </li></ul></ul>

RESULTS <ul><li>Educational Materials </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Collected by MOET from Vietnamese universities </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Uploaded ~200 on the VOCW website </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Course Development </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Vietnamese experts developed high quality courses in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biotechnology </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>18 courses completed with: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Syllabus and Course calendar </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Lectures and Readings </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Assignments in English with annotations in Vietnamese </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>1165 modules and 225 courses </li></ul>

Activities: Networking <ul><li>Local Network </li></ul><ul><ul><li>29 universities VOCW Community </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Growing into broader OCW community </li></ul></ul><ul><li>International </li></ul><ul><ul><li>With easier access to the internet, outreach to world-wide OCW communities is just beginning. </li></ul></ul>

Activities: Porting the Creative Commons license to Vietnam <ul><li>WHO: Creative Commons (CC) and D&N International (D&N), a Vietnamese law firm </li></ul><ul><li>WHAT: Create Vietnam jurisdiction-specific licenses from the generic Creative Commons licenses </li></ul><ul><li>WHERE: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Workshop on Creative Commons </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Launch of Creative Commons Licenses Vietnam </li></ul></ul><ul><li>WHEN:1:00 pm, May 7, during OCWC conference. </li></ul>

Activities: Transferring responsibilities of VEF for VOCW to MOET <ul><li>Transfer of VOCW </li></ul><ul><ul><li>VEF transferred its responsibilities for the VOCW program to MOET in January 2010. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Future </li></ul><ul><ul><li>With MOET’s support of open courseware </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>With Vietnamese universities interested in open courseware </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ADVANCEMENT IN EDUCATION! </li></ul></ul>
