. Bookplate Collection Ex Libris Julian MarshallSpecial Collections has, overtime, become the beneficiary ofdonations from several localbookplate collectors. Begun in1917 with the Lemperly collectionand continuing to this day as arecord of our institutional exlibris, the Bookplate Collectionconsists of over 5,000 examplesof the art of the bookplate, usedin the study of the history of bookownership.
History of Science & TechnologyT. Keith Glennan Primary Sources • T. Keith Glennan, fourth president of Case Institute of Technology (1947- 1966), was named the first Administrator of the new National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1958 • CWRU Archives houses the T. Keith Glennan Papers and many other records documenting his life and work. • Glennan supported the new field of the History of Science and Technology and supported the creation of the Case Archive of Contemporary Science and Technology, founded in 1963 by CIT Professor Robert Schofield and now housed in Special Collections
Western Reserve College LibraryWestern Reserve College (WRC), wasfounded in Hudson Ohio in 1826, andWRC trustees appointed the first collegelibrarian, William Hanford that sameyear.Items on display included the Catalogueof the Library in Western ReserveCollege. 1850, as well as 19th centurytexts heavily annotated in students’hand.
