  • Balance (noun)“The correct amount of different things”
  • Active (adjective)“Taking regular exercise”
  • “Soup made of stock and lentils with onions carrots and celery”
    Lentil Soup (noun)
  • Overweight (adjective)"Too heavy and fat”
  • Diabetes (noun)“A condition whereby the body is not able to regulate levels of glucose in the blood, resulting in too much glucose being present in the blood”
  • Hypoglycemia (noun):“Is the medical term for a state produced by a lower than normal level of blood glucose”
  • Accused (noun):
    The person who is said to have broken a law.
  • Childhood (noun)“The time of your life when you are a child”
  • Documentary(noun) :a film or television or radio programme that gives facts or information about a particular subject.
  • Inflammation (noun): 
    A morbid condition of any part of the body, consisting in congestion 
    of the blood vessels, with obstruction of the blood current, and growth of morbid tissue.
    It is manifested outwardly by redness and swelling, attended with heat and pain.
  • Lethargy (noun) :
    The feeling of being very tired and not having any energy.
  • Tobacco(noun) : The substance that people smoke in cigarettes and pipes (the dried leaves of the tobacco plant).

  • So a Balanced diet :
    provides for optimal growth and development.
  •  A balanced diet means eating foodfrom all of thefour basic foodgroups:
    The milk group,
    The meat group,
    The fruit and vegetable group,
    and The grain group
  • Unbalanced diet :
    causes problems with maintenance of
    body tissues, the brain and nervous
    system, and bones and muscles, it can also cause gaining weight and obesity.
  • Obesity is:“The condition of being very fat, in a way that is not healthy. When a person’s weight (BMI) is 20% over the normal bodyweight for height and age, they are considered obese.”
    Obesity is a chronic disease.
  • BMI is :
    Body mass index
  • Treatments for obesity: Diet, behavior therapy, drugs, surgery.
  • Other than obesity, there are more eating-related disorders:
  • Anorexia Nervosa:
    An illness especially affecting young women.
    It makes them afraid of being
    fat so they do not eat. .
    • When individuals starve themselves
    in order to lose weight, when
    in fact theyare alreadyunderweight.
    • Pica:A conditionparticularly prevalent in childrenin which they eat things like dirt, wood, hair , and glass.
  • Bulimia Nervosa:
    A disorder of eating
    too much and then
    the person makes himher self vomit,
    plus the use of
    laxatives, diuretics,
    and vigorous
  • Laxative :
    It’s a medication which is used to move
    the bowels, or aiding digestion and
  • All of these have severe consequences to a person’s health and can even cause death IF NOT TREATED. Treatment is by going to a psychiatric and a nutritionist .
  • Nutritionist is:
    An expert or specialist in nutrition.
