    • The Red River is a mission based organization with socio-economic objectives based out of Guwahati, Assam
    • The organization envisions to link the skills, and the hand-woven/handmade products of the North East India to sustainable markets thereby bringing in economic benefits for the people by generating increased number of days of employment
    • The organization believes in fair-trade and abides by its principles
    • The Red River promotes the use of environment friendly practices, natural dyes, hand-spun yarns, handloom, fair wages and nurtures dyeing traditional practices in handicraft and handloom
    • Sister organization - Kandaree
  • 3. The North East Connection
    • North East India is rich in weaves and crafts
    • Environment friendly and sustainable practices are naturally prevalent here – e.g. use of natural dyes, bamboo etc
    • The numerous distinct communities residing in the region enrich the range of skills and styles
    • 60% of the population are engaged in handicrafts and handloom
  • 4. Our producers Our producers are home based weavers/artisans. They follow design direction of The Red River
