  design

exhibition,	
  held	
  at	
  Dray	
  Walk	
  Gallery	
  on	
  Brick	
  Lane,	
  
that	
  epitomised	
  the	
  label’s	
  three	
  successful	
  decades.	
  
	
  
	
  
Along	
  with	
  being	
  infamous	
  for	
  their	
  provocative	
  
designs,	
  print	
  and	
  pattern	
  has	
  always	
  been	
  an	
  
integral	
  part	
  of	
  the	
  Red	
  or	
  Dead	
  design	
  language.	
  
With	
  that	
  in	
  mind,	
  to	
  demonstrate	
  the	
  scale	
  and	
  
fame	
  of	
  the	
  brand,	
  the	
  history	
  of	
  Red	
  or	
  Dead	
  was	
  
printed	
  on	
  one	
  continuous	
  roll	
  of	
  paper.	
  	
  	
  
	
  
This	
  was	
  then	
  interwoven	
  and	
  wrapped	
  around	
  a	
  
scaffold	
  structure,	
  to	
  represent	
  a	
  traditional	
  
newspaper	
  printing	
  press,	
  creating	
  individual	
  spaces	
  
in	
  which	
  to	
  exhibit	
  the	
  various	
  items	
  on	
  show.

Red  or  Dead  |  Gift  Wrapped     Last  year  saw  Red  or  Dead’s  30th  anniversary  and   Make  Believe  was  commissioned  to  design  an   exhibition,  held  at  Dray  Walk  Gallery  on  Brick  Lane,   that  epitomised  the  label’s  three  successful  decades.       Along  with  being  infamous  for  their  provocative   designs,  print  and  pattern  has  always  been  an   integral  part  of  the  Red  or  Dead  design  language.   With  that  in  mind,  to  demonstrate  the  scale  and   fame  of  the  brand,  the  history  of  Red  or  Dead  was   printed  on  one  continuous  roll  of  paper.         This  was  then  interwoven  and  wrapped  around  a   scaffold  structure,  to  represent  a  traditional   newspaper  printing  press,  creating  individual  spaces   in  which  to  exhibit  the  various  items  on  show.
