Read the full articleNEW METHOD TO IMPROVE S/N RATIOS ON NITROCELLULOSE SLIDES Researchers at the J. Craig Venter Institute have discovered that using Polyvinyl alcohol, as a blocking solution after printing, significantly improves the signal-to-noise ratios on nitrocellulose coated slides. This technique is adapted from one that is widely used in lateral flow immunoassays (see figure 3). In addition, the black color greatly improves the contrast, and therefore the readability of the barcodes. The new method of application allows barcodes and custom logos to be printed at a much higher resolution. If you would like to have more details please contact us at info.nexterion@us.schott.com.
