Introduction to customer newsletters Customer newsletters whether sent through emails or postal mail are great way to keep people updated with news regarding your company, product or the industry as a whole. Newsletters provide more in-depth information rather than traditional ads. Newsletters provide detailed information and thorough explanations making them a more effective way of advertising.
Execution method Customer newsletters can be filled with articles, photos, graphics to give a more dynamic look than a regular text one. There are readily available templates which you can download and just customize them to your companies graphics or logo. You can also sell advertising space on your newsletter to other advertisers.
Cost and timeframe Email newsletters are very low cost promotional items. Print newsletters can be expensive depending on the printing complexity. Creating newsletters is time consuming as it requires you to write and compile articles, pictures etc. You can use ready made templates to save time. Remember emailing newsletter is a faster medium than print.
Tips Compile short and precise newsletters. Add your website link at the bottom of the newsletter for further information of the reader. ‘How-to’ articles are a great way to show interest in customer’s issues. This will help in building an image of a solution provider. Newsletters are not absolute advertisements. You should avoid making hard sales pitches and also focus on discussions related to your industry.
