If you are applying for a full-time Foundation Degree or Honours Degree you will need to use the on-line application system at www.ucas.com

Tuition Fee Loan (repayable)
Maintenance Loan (repayable)

National Scholarships Programme
There will be a £150m National Scholarships Programme targeted at bright potential students from lower income households.
Further details will be available from Summer 2011.

Tuition Fees
All full time Higher Education students must pay tuition fees
Any university or college can charge a graduate contribution of up to £6,000 per year for 2012 entry
Newcastle College fees are to be confirmed for 2012 entry

Payment of Tuition Fees
Take out a Tuition Fee Loan which is paid directly to Newcastle College
You will not have to pay this back until you are earning over £21,000 per year after you graduate

Maintenance Loan
A maintenance loan will be available to all eligible full-time students irrespective of family income.
Can be used to assist with living costs i.e. accommodation, utility bills, travel etc.
Paid directly in to your bank account in 3 instalments per year (subject to attendance).

You will not usually have to pay this back until you are earning over £21,000 per year after you graduate.
You repay 9% of your income above £21,000.
For example, if your salary was £25,000 you repay 9% 0f £4000 which works out at around £6.92 per week.

Maintenance Grant
Means tested based on your household income
Up to £3,250 maximum per year (more than 2011 entry)
Further assistance may be available for single parents, special support requirements and students with a disability
This does not have to be paid back
