  • INTERNET & WI-FIGOOD MORNING MAM/SIR,MY NAME IS neeraj sharmaI PRESENTS MY TOPIC“INTERNET & WI-FI”
  • INTERNET• The Internet changed our life enormously, there isno doubt about that. There are many advantages ofthe Internet that show you the importance of thisnew medium. What I want to say is that Internetchanged our life in a positive way.• First we have to make a differentiation concerningthe usage. You can use the Internet at home forpersonal or you at work for professional usage. Let’scome to the first. To spend a part of our day on theInternet is for many people quite normal. They usethis kind of medium to get information about all kindstopics
  • WI-FI• In today’s high-tech world connectivity tonetworks is extremely important for organizationsto survive. Networking is possible of variousmachines like computers, laptops, cell phones etc.• WI-FI IS VERY USEFUL TECHNOLOGY IN TODAY’SWORLD.
  • ADVANTAGES OF WI-FI• ð Wi-Fi allows LANs to be deployed without cabling forclient devices, typically reducing the costs of networkdeployment and expansion. Spaces where cables cannot berun, such as outdoor areas and historical buildings, canhost wireless LANs• ð Wi-Fi has become widespread in corporateinfrastructures, which also helps with the deployment ofRFID technology that can piggyback on Wi-Fi• Ð Wi-Fi is a global set of standards. Unlike mobiletelephones, any standard Wi-Fi device will work anywherein the world.
  • DISADVANTAGES OF WI-FI• ð Spectrum assignments and operationallimitations are not consistent worldwide• ð Power consumption is fairly high compared tosome other low-bandwidth standards• ð Wi-Fi networks have limited range.• ð Wi-Fi pollution, or an excessive number ofaccess points in the area, especially on the sameor neighboring channel
  • HOW DOES WI-FI WORKS• Radio waves are the keys which make Wi-Fi networkingpossible. These radio signals are transmitted from antennasand routers and are picked up by Wi-Fi receivers such ascomputers and cell phones that are equipped with Wi-Fi cards.Whenever a computer receives any of the signals within therange of a Wi-Fi network which is usually 300 – 500 feet forantennas and 100 – 150 feet for routers, the Wi-Fi card willread the signals and thus create an internet connectionbetween the user and the network without the use of a cord.Usually the connection speed is increases as the computer getscloser to the main source of the signal and decreases when thecomputer gets further away.
