What is effective communication – What is meaning and how does it occur? – Why is communication important? – Is communication more important to managers than other people? – What is different about managerial communication than other types of communication? – Why is communication sometimes difficult?     • www.monash.edu.au 15 Assignment 3 – Persuasive Presentation • You will be marked via the Munroe’s Motivated Sequence • Attention – How are you getting your audience on board from moment one • Need – What is the issue – show the audience that the current situation is not viable for the future • Satisfaction – But it’s all ok – because you have a solution to this problem • Visualisation – What is this wonderful world going to look like – what are the benefits • Action – What can they do right now, today, tomorrow, a week from now
    • www.monash.edu.au 16 Assignment 3 – Persuasive Presentation • Marked on: • Structure and Content – Needs to be very clear it hits all 5 areas of Munroe’s Motivating Sequence • Delivery – How you used your slides, how you used your voice, the space, did you go 10 minutes? • Engagement and Impact – Did the class actually enjoy it. Did you change minds. Did you answer the questions well (key here is plant some questions).
