  • 3. Introduction:1. Target Audience: This tutorial will be used by current and future Instructional Design Interns (adultlearners) at Fort Leonard Wood. It will be posted on Fort Leonard Wood’s BlackBoard homepage as a course so essentially any Fort Leonard Wood employee will be able to ask for accessto this tutorial.2. Objectives and Purpose: a. Students will be capable to prepare effective briefing slides more effectively. b. Student will be able to identify features (new, basic, and advanced) in PowerPoint 2007. c. Students will identify components of PowerPoint utilizing the user interface. d. Students will be able to design, create, save, and publish effective PowerPointpresentations.3. Equipment and Software Requirements: a. Computer or laptop with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista operating system. b. Monitor, mouse, and keyboard (dual monitors recommended). c. Internet connection. d. Flash player. e. Audio card with speakers or headphones.Begin Course: 3
  • 4. 1. Instructions:Cutting Edge PowerPoint is divided into two modules. Module one is your novice (basic)features and module two contains your more intermediate (advanced) features. To begin thiscourse: a. Paste the following link into your internet browser. b. Click the Getting Starting Tab. c. Click the module you want to begin with; it is recommended that you start at the firstmodule. d. Click the lesson you want to begin with; it is recommended you begin with the firstlesson. e. Follow along with the video presentation. It is recommended that you perform thetasks in PowerPoint while watching the video. f. When you are completed with each lesson, click the “next” button. 4
  • 5. 2. Course Description: a. The course consists of two modules (basic and advanced features). Each module consistsof four lessons. The length of each lesson is approximately five minutes. Each module could becompleted in less than two hours. b. Each module has four navigational buttons: Home, Module One, Module Two, andResources. Each lesson has navigational buttons to allow the user to return to the home page,previous lesson or next lesson. There is no book mark capability within this course. c. The assessment is your final presentation. You must use 80% of the featuresdemonstrated within your presentation.3. Additional Information: a. The resources tab consists of links to other versions of PowerPoint, a quick guide, akeystrokes guide, and links to additional tutorials for PowerPoint. b.
