  • I noticed when I watched this that I was holding tension in jaw and shoulders. Thanks for the tip. Interesting to use one simple background. I think having lots of different backgrounds would have made it difficult to relax. Clever!

  • Hi Nancy, That method of getting people to do exercises was good. The simple background and the fast paced addition of small numbers of words worked well. For me the link to what you do, or the compelling reason to contact you at the end, was missing. You last slide just said 'author' to me.

  • 28. So how do you do this “listening?”

  • 33. Let’s do some simple exercises

  • 35. To begin, be seated
  • 36. To begin, be seated in a comfortable position...
  • 37. Take a couple of deep breaths to relax.
  • 38. Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw
  • 39. … create tension in your jaw Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw
  • 40. … create tension in your jaw Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw and notice the sensation
  • 41. … create tension in your jaw Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw and notice the sensation when the muscles around your jaw are tense.
  • 42. Now relax your jaw, and just notice the difference between

  • 44. Now relax your jaw, and just notice the difference between tense jaw muscles and relaxed jaw muscles.
  • 45. Okay, now let’s experiment with your shoulders.
  • 46. tense your shoulders for a few seconds.
  • 47. Notice how that tension engages surrounding muscles as well.

  • 49. Next, take a deep breath

  • 65. Feel the tension and
  • 66. Feel the tension and notice what happens to your breathing
  • 67. Now, allow your belly to expand
  • 68. Now, allow your belly to expand as you take a deep breath,

  • 70. How does relaxing your belly

  • 72. How does your body feel
  • 73. How does your body feel when your belly is relaxed?
  • 74. How does your body feel vs. when your belly is relaxed?
  • 75. How does your body feel when your belly is tense vs. when your belly is relaxed?
  • 76. Continue to practice
  • 77. Continue to practice being aware of your body
  • 78. Continue to practice and you will begin to being aware of your body
  • 79. Continue to practice and you will begin to being aware of your body appreciate your body’s wisdom.
  • 80. Pay attention to what you are doing
  • 81. Pay attention to what you are doing when you feel tension
  • 82. Pay attention to what you are doing or a sensation of being relaxed. when you feel tension
  • 83. What is
  • 84. What is your body trying to tell you?
  • 85. Keep “listening”
  • 86. Keep “listening” and being curious…
  • 87. Keep “listening” … and you will begin to know and being curious…
  • 88. Keep “listening” … and you will begin to know and being curious… what your body is telling you.
  • 89. Follow that guidance
  • 90. And you will start to notice
  • 91. And you will start to notice the magic
  • 92. And you will start to notice the magic around you.
