‘Retribution’ The Magazine Cover(and how it conforms to conventions)
The MastheadWhen I did my magazine cover research (which waspresented on my blog) I decided that I was going to usethe Masthead from the ‘Empire’ magazine rather thanthe Masthead from the ‘Total Film’ magazine. I decidedthis because the narrow shape of the ‘Empire’ magazinebetter suited the ideas which I had been having while Idid the research.
The Masthead (continued)After some research I discovered that the Masthead for‘Empire’ magazine was actually the font ‘RelayBold’ with some slight adjustments. So, usingPhotoshop I took each letter and either cut or addedparts which were needed to make it look like theEmpire Masthead. I then decided to take the originaland add a little to it by placing smaller blackversion of each letter on top.
