Gwen was given the United Nations as her site. Gwen began questioning the limitations and possibilities of a socially and politically engaged architecture by looking into the political nature and architectural implications of the United Nations, as it stands today. She investigated how to rectify the ideas of global governance with the site and notions of public media, protest and expression. Focusing on the temporary building, which is currently under construction, Gwen proposed keeping and transforming the temporary building rather than tearing it down and introduced a transitional media center that would travel around the world echoing the message of the United Nations.
