What were the effects of the Civil War? By: Kelsey Warren , Emily Sfaelos , & Madison Kowall .
It was now illegal to own slaves in the united states. This made the south angry because now they had nobody to do there farm work and to pick there cotton.
But that soon changed when they did hidden slavery were the people would pay to stay there and rent there land leave when they want but the old slave owners were still in control but know they get paid for it.
After slavery was illegal people would segregate colored people. there would be 2 water fountains, 1 for whites and the other for colored. The same thing went for schools and stores.
Abraham Lincoln was the 16 th president of the United States. He didn’t end slavery but he helped not spread it. John Wilks Booth was the man who shot the bullet into Abraham Lincolns head, which was the cause of his death.
John Wilkes Booth
He is the man who actually shot the bullet into Abraham Lincolns skull. He and other men attempted murders towards other important government and men but john Wilkes Booth was the one to kill Abraham. He died as he was being chased and he was in a fire at a barn and was burned to death and died.
Every time you hear his name you should think of the word, Segregation. He was a way to go around slavery and what he did was he paid used to be slaves to work on there farm and live on there land but they had to pay the rent and it was pretty much slavery in disguise. It was a win-win.
Ku Klux Klan. (KKK)
The Ku Klux Klan was a group of white people who hated colored people and scared them away from voting. They would do tortuous things to scare them off from voting and they would even kill. They wore White sheets over there faces so that nobody could see who they really were. When they first started off they didn’t wear white sheets until later on.
