    Notes on slide 1

The system allows users to identify solid dosage forms based on physical criteria: imprint (including partial imprints), shape, color, size, and scoring. Future versions may include searching based on drug class or conditions treated with that drug. Users are shown thumbnail images of possible matches. These images are continually updated as the user enters additional information. Once a solid dosage form has been identified, additional information is provided, including brand/generic name, ingredients, drug class, DEA Schedule, as well as RxNorm and National Drug File identification information. Links are provided to NLM drug information resources, such as label information (DailyMed), emergency medial treatment information (Hazardous Substances Data Bank - HSDB), related journal articles (PubMed), and consumer health information (MedlinePlus).
