3. The team at Charter calls Walden ‘The Village Reinvented.’ Following our Passion to create
Special Places™, we took the opportunity to rethink a new village, patterned on many old
villages and towns built throughout the region generations ago.

4. Walden is the first new village built on Harrisburg’s West Shore in more than 100 years
recapturing the welcome simplicity of local village life. One of Charter’s principles, Go
Green First, is to first plan the preserved spaces in the neighborhood.

5. Walden Crossroads is the center of the village experience. There, homes built on top of
business spaces, what we consider “true mixed-use”, is a new planning and development
model in the suburban market which challenges the assumption of what the market wants
and values.

6. The design encourages imaginative play. The Grove is a take on the classic tree-lined parks
found in iconic cities. Walking trails and more than 3000 trees line the streets designed
specifically with the idea that these areas can provide tranquility that rejuvenates the mind
and spirit while recreational areas rejuvenate the body.
