  • YES curriculum developed over 15 years, modified each year based on business feedback about what they saw lacking in entry-level employees.
  • Food gets kids in the door. Then we have to keep them. Eddie Rodriguez taught me that.
  • Pass out the hand out at this point so they can look at the agenda. Talk about the general organization of the agenda: two classes back to back so volunteers can teach two sessions, start with team building day 1 and 2, put the heavy day as day 3, etc. Review of what’s in the classes will come with photos.

  • Students: Attendance: 96%, Rating: 85% A, 13% B, 2% C
Volunteers: Rating: 86% A, 14% B Would you volunteer for YES next year? 100% yes
“I am grateful for everything that you all have done for our school and especially for me. I learned so much in four days that I would never have learned in years.” Taken from one of the students’ thank you letters.
“What a great and meaningful and well-organized program. Thanks so much for including me.” Comment from volunteer evaluation form
