Social Enterprises for Learning (SEfL) <ul><li>STC/WBL/CTE strategy, developed in 1998 </li></ul><ul><li>Three main outcomes: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Social : provide benefits to a larger community or general public </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Enterprise : produce goods or services for clients or customers </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Learning: enable participants to develop specified kinds of knowledge and skills </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Applicable to a range of career themes and contexts </li></ul>

Why SEfL? <ul><li>SEfL Projects are authentic, inquiry-based learning opportunities </li></ul><ul><li>Initiatives provide important professional/career context and give a professional trajectory to high school students </li></ul><ul><li>Academy students are too often not prepared to take full advantage of internships as they are not prepared </li></ul>
