  • Program description: available to high school teachers with an insurance curriculum, community college instructors, school administrators, and guidance counselors InVEST participants seeking a greater understanding of the fundamentals of insurance can attend a two-week summer IEI workshop offering three graduate credits, room and board, all free of charge participants need only pay for their travel and weekend meals IEI institutes are designed for teachers who teach insurance as part of another subject such as business, consumer education, economics, social science, family and consumer science, mathematics or driver’s education designed to provide participants with an understanding of all forms of insurance, how the industry works, and what insurance careers are available Participants will: develop lesson plans for use in the classroom share ideas and information in a team environment earn three graduate credits

  • An ideal InVEST Advisory Committee would consist of: a representative from the state or local independent agents’ association a local representative of a national or regional insurance company someone from the local NAIW, CPCU or RIMS chapter or other local insurance organization an associate or affiliate member of an insurance association who has been active with and supportive of association activities such as a home restoration firm, windshield replacement company, premium finance company or auto leasing firm other teachers, school board members or school administrators
