What are the business impacts of social learning?
Social learning is a fundamental shift in the way people work, collaborate, and learn within an organization. Social learning accelerates and broadens the reach and potential of both the individual and the organization.
Gartner says that “Today’s workplace is diverse, distributed and full of context shifts. And the US Department of Labor has discovered that an approach of social learning with formal learning allows learners to complete tasks 30% more accurately, spend 28% more of their work week being productive, and perform tasks 41% faster compared with formal learning alone.
In fact, social learning is fast becoming the primary delivery method for organizations. According to a study done by McLean and Company, social collaborative learning is projected to go up 170%. These same companies are expecting to decrease investments in instructor led training and increase elearning offerings.
