If you can dream it

It is certainly good to fill your mind with positive ideas like this, as what we believe affects our behaviour. However, we have to be realistic in those dreams and aspirations – if we set our goals too high and strive ceaselessly for the perfection we desire, burnout is the result, along with other mental problems, like depression and anxiety disorder.

If you can dream it

  1. 1. If You CanDream Itpositivetranceformations.com.au
  2. 2. OK, unless you’ve been under a rock for the last 20 years, you have probably heard plenty of thoseinspirational positive thinking quotes.
  3. 3. And even if you are under a rock, ifyou have a mobile telecommunicationsdevice of some kind, you probably can still get these quotes delivered to you.
  4. 4. I certainly know that half the “status updates” posted by thiswriter’s friends seem to be cheesy, cheerful inspirational quotes.
  5. 5. And I’m pretty sure that motivational speakers in the world of business, religion and community matters have to go through a course where they learn all the inspirational quotes.
  6. 6. You sometimes wonder if some ofthese speakers have actually readany of the books they take quotes from or whether they just read books of quotations.
  7. 7. What sort of quotes are we talking about here?
  8. 8. Here’s a selection of cheesy and not so cheesy ones from online and a calendar sent this writer for Christmas by a relative
  9. 9. – but minus the nice photos of sunsets, waves, waterfalls andsweeping mountain panoramas (and action pics of guys going rock climbing if you’re really lucky):
  10. 10. “Courage does not always roar.Sometimes, courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow.’”
  11. 11. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
  12. 12. “YOU are the creator of your own destiny.”
  13. 13. “Do not wait for your ship to come in – swim out and meet it.”
  14. 14. “Your attitude determines your altitude.”
  15. 15. “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
  16. 16. “Opportunities for success in thisworld are as great as we have the imagination to dream them.”
  17. 17. Now, a lot of these quotes are inspiring and motivational. It’s goodto feed your mind on positive, upbeatphrases – they’re better for you than negative self-talk.
  18. 18. There’s no denying the power of the will and the mind, and with a lot ofstruggles in life, it’s the battle in the mind that counts the most.
  19. 19. This is one of the fundamental ideas behind hypnosis – what we believedeep down and what’s playing on our mental audio loops affects our behaviour and therefore our lives.
  20. 20. We certainly think it’s a good idea to start the day by filling your mind with positive and inspiring wordsfrom an authority or source that you respect and admire.
  21. 21. After all, one of the early pioneers of hypnotherapy, Dr Coué,taught that if his clients and patients recited the positive phrase “Every day and in every way, I am getting better and better” twenty times first thing in the morning,
  22. 22. this would affect the way they lived. It was a sort of hypnotherapy and mental reprogramming without the trance (but therefore took a lot longer to sink down into the deeperparts of the psyche – the part of you that could be called the spirit, soul or heart).
  23. 23. As an aside, it’s funny that thisfamous line of Coués doesn’t turn upin those posters and cheerful little books of inspirational quotes.
