The joy of the lord

  1. 1. The Joy of the Lord A message from Jesus Loss of a favorite pet If you have received My gift of salvation, you are guaranteed My joy, which is something you will always have with you and which will never end. Not even difficult experiences can take My joy away from you. Jesus will take good care of your pet parakeet. “Not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.”1 Something might cause you to feel sad for a time, but if you trust in Me, I will give you an inner peace that all will be well in the long run. Matthew 10:29 NL T 1 Here lies Blue, our pretty parakeet.
  2. 2. Sickness The departure of a friend I’ll miss you! My family is moving to another city.
  3. 3. Remember that even when difficult things like that happen, I’m there caring for you. That knowledge gives you a joy in your heart. And as you study My Word and let Me teach you more about how to trust Me, that will increase your joy. “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God” (Romans 8:28 NLT).
  4. 4. The faith and joy that I give to you is constant, like the sun. You know the sun is always there. When the sun sets at night, do you worry that it has left forever? “Even in the dark, You are my light.”2 Good night! See you in the morning? I’m so glad the sun comes up again! Though the night comes and you cannot see it, you know the sun is still there and that it will rise the next morning. 2 Pray a Way: Bedtime 1 of 2
  5. 5. So is My joy always there for you, even if you lose sight of it during difficult experiences. Good morning! “We may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14 ESV). We receive God’s joy from: • Receiving Jesus’ love and gift of salvation. • Knowing that Jesus takes good care of us. • Knowing we will live forever in God’s kingdom. • Helping other people know about Jesus’ love. • Studying the Bible and God’s promises in His Word. Then is the time to trust Me and believe that I will make you happy again. S&S link: Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: Faith-1b Contributed by Christi S.
