  • While I agree with all of the above and the fact that this market will be a dominate market for the next 20 years, it is worth considering that most tourism operators do not understand one of the big implications of the this market trend - Inclusive Tourism. At age 65 40% of these travellers will be carrying an age related disability and by age 75 that increases to 65%. That makes tourism for people with a disability worth 25% of the total tourism spend by 2020. It is not just a case of marketing to seniors, but developing product and services tailored to their needs. Disability in many cases will not deter them from wanting both luxury and adventure experiences and the industry will have start tailoring product to meet those aspirations.
