  4. 4. Planning your Exchanges (Internal Research) <ul><li>Internal research is fundamental in increasing exchange numbers in your LC. Due to: </li></ul><ul><li>Internal research enables you to raise exchanges according to the type of EP background available. </li></ul><ul><li>Internal research assists in raising TNs through selling the EPs CV to the company to show them what they might be getting. </li></ul>
  5. 5. How does internal research work? <ul><li>i) Analyzing EP Background supply </li></ul>

EP background cont. <ul><li>This will offer you the EP backgrounds that are in supply at different times of the year. </li></ul><ul><li>Start raising TNs that have similar backgrounds to the EPs on supply  </li></ul><ul><li>Random tips: </li></ul><ul><li>Commitment to results is very important. </li></ul><ul><li>Motivating your team to raise these particular exchanges is super important. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>ii) Peak Exchange Internal Research </li></ul><ul><li>Assess time (which month) for highest raising and realization rates of EPs. </li></ul><ul><li>Which country supplies the most EP in the different months of the year? </li></ul><ul><li>Make alignment between those highest peaks to our plan for raising TN. </li></ul><ul><li>This information can be gathered from DAAL files and statistics on myaiesec.net. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>iii ) Matching with preferred Internship duration </li></ul><ul><li>List the most availability duration along with the type of internship </li></ul><ul><li>Align it to the TN that will be raised. </li></ul><ul><li>iv) Country Research </li></ul><ul><li>Do research on countries that have a lot of realizations </li></ul><ul><li>Find contacts from those countries and ask about their EP raising plan throughout the year </li></ul><ul><li>Align it with our plan to raise TN. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Partnerships <ul><li>Definition: </li></ul><ul><li>“ LC partnerships are mutually beneficial exchange based relationships based on exchange. Both ICX and OGX” </li></ul>

Why do LC partnerships <ul><li>Have a secure source and destination for exchanges. </li></ul><ul><li>Build your network with other LCs across the AIESEC network. </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure your ICX pipeline is secure and results ensured every month. </li></ul><ul><li>Hedge against low exchange seasons (sept-dec and march-may). </li></ul><ul><li>Raise matchable TNs. </li></ul>
  11. 11. How to Generate LC Partnerships <ul><li>Planning </li></ul><ul><li>LC partnerships should be mutually beneficial and should be maximized on by your LC. The following should be considered: </li></ul><ul><li>Your ICX Pipeline </li></ul><ul><li>This should answer the following questions: </li></ul><ul><li>When do we need to realize exchanges? </li></ul><ul><li>Which other country is realizing exchanges during this time? </li></ul><ul><li>Which are the top performing LCs in these countries? </li></ul><ul><li>How many TNs can we offer these LCs? </li></ul><ul><li>ii) LC research: </li></ul><ul><li>This should answer the following questions: </li></ul><ul><li>What kind of EPs do these countries offer? </li></ul><ul><li>What are the EPs backgrounds these LCs can raise? Can we raise similar TNs for them? </li></ul><ul><li>What’s their EPs duration period? </li></ul>

LC-LC partnership document: </li></ul><ul><li>The partnerships document should have (see example on this link): </li></ul><ul><li>Feasible number of exchanges shared between the two LCs. </li></ul><ul><li>Activities required for each LC to do with set timelines. </li></ul><ul><li>The backgrounds required for each LC to raise (specifications on the raised TNs). </li></ul><ul><li>Signed agreement by both VP Xs. </li></ul><ul><li>3. Effective follow up on the LC partnership: </li></ul><ul><li>There should be effective follow up on the LC partnership plan. </li></ul><ul><li>Changes in LC realities should be reflected on the LC partnership plan. </li></ul><ul><li>Changes in partnership agreement should be done if one party can’t deliver the partnership. </li></ul>

GCPs for LC-LC Partnerships <ul><li>USP, Brazil & Jaipur, India: </li></ul><ul><li>USP conducted pocket recruitments for TT EPs to send to Jaipur for their project Phoenix, resulting in successful realization of 8 exchanges between the 2 LCs. </li></ul><ul><li>ECI, Colombia & Hyderabad, India: </li></ul><ul><li>ECI conducted pocket recruitment for TT EPs to send to Hyderabad for their project Phoenix, resulting in successful realization of 7 exchanges between the 2 LCs </li></ul><ul><li>Tokyo, Japan & Mumbai, India: </li></ul><ul><li>Tokyo LC recruits & sends MT EPs to Mumbai for companies that have specific requirements from Japan. Cy visits was also part of this partnership from both sides. </li></ul>

How to use DAAL Files <ul><li>Exchange statistics offers you information on which LCs and MCs to work with (which LCs and MCs are top performing and how to partner with them). </li></ul><ul><li>DAAL files also helps you know which EP backgrounds are in demand and for you to raise according to that number (target raising). </li></ul><ul><li>DAAL files offers you information on which MCs are recruiting EPs during a certain time of the year. </li></ul>
  18. 18. Available Forms Tracker <ul><li>Definition: </li></ul><ul><li>“ Available forms tracker has all the information for EP/TNs that are available and when they want to be realized” </li></ul><ul><li>* You can find them by going to files and searching for Available Forms tracker. </li></ul>

How to use Available Forms Tracker <ul><li>It’s a source of EP contacts. </li></ul><ul><li>Gives more information on what kind of TNs to raise in the future and which Countries or LCs to match them with. </li></ul><ul><li>To fully utilize the available forms: </li></ul><ul><li>Sort the forms into manageable chunks with your preferences. </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t spam EPs one message (check how to use mail merge for matching wiki). </li></ul>

LC Promotion and Branding <ul><li>Definition: </li></ul><ul><li>“ if you say nothing about your product someone will say it for you” </li></ul><ul><li>Promotion of your LC lifts your profile in the AIESEC network making it much easier to attract EPs to your LC and getting quick matches. </li></ul><ul><li>Branding your LCs during international conferences is also a viable source of getting publicity. </li></ul>

What you need for effective promotion: <ul><li>LC TN promotion wiki. </li></ul><ul><li>Updated Search tool of your LC available forms. </li></ul><ul><li>LC video profiling past intern experiences . </li></ul><ul><li>TN promotional material (may include: TN posters, TN profiles on myaiesec.net) </li></ul><ul><li>Use of social media sites for LC TN promotion. </li></ul>
