Ali was born on January 17 ,1942 , he was famous for his boxing, but just as famous for all the controversy he caused.
He made the blacks recognizable , and become part of the sporting world.
Who is this person and what has he done in his lifetime?
Muhammad Ali a.k.a. Cassius Clay was a heavyweight boxing world champion for many years, By the time he was eighteen, he had already won 108 matches and only lost eight.
After returning from the Olympics he became a professional boxer.
Courageous because … he stood up for the blacks and still fought when media were getting at him for what he had said.
Determined because …he never gave up and never gave in to any pressure .He kept getting better and better.
Self motivated …because he believed in god and pursued with everything until he retired, he knew he was the greatest.
Why’d I choose this person?
I chose Muhammad Ali, because I found him in a heroes book and because when I saw his picture it stood out to me. In all his photos he looks confident and strong, I think he is an inspirational boxer and to the blacks for speaking out about their rights.
The story behind his boxing
He took to boxing at the age of twelve, It is said that when Clay was twelve, his bicycle was stolen. A police officer suggested to him to learn boxing, perhaps in order to be better equipped to handle unwanted people, and Clay took him seriously. His career started from there.
