  • 2. LocationRelative Location-North of California is Oregon, East of California is Nevada and Arizona, South of California is Mexico, and West of California is the Pacific Ocean.Absolute Location-The coordinates of California are 39 degrees N, 121 degrees W
  • 3. Region1. Californias area codes are 209, 213, 310, 323, 408, 415, 510, 530, 559, 562, 619, 626, 650, 661, 707, 714, 760, 805, 818, 831, 858, 909, 916, 925, and 949.2. California is in the Western Region
  • 4. PlaceLandmark- Some of Californias landmarks are Death Valley National Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood Sign, Aircraft Carrier Museum, Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, and Maidu Interpretive Center and Historic Site.Landform- The landforms of California are Death Valley, San Francisco Bay, Klamath Mountain, Colorado Desert, Modoc Plateau, and the Majave DesertTradition- Some traditions in California are The California Victory Cannon, Card Stunts, The Fish Clap, The Freshmen Ten Commandment, The Golden Bear, Oski The Bear, The Oski Yell, The Pajamarino Rally, The Rubber Chicken, Senior Class Pilgrimage, and The Tuna Cheer.Climate- In the Summer the average temperatures are about 72 degrees. The average temperature in the winter is about 40 degrees.

  • 6. Human/Environment InteractionAdapt- California has adapted to the high heats in the summer by installing air conditioning systems. They also have adapted to the floods by rain by building their houses on hills.Modify- California has modified their land by building the Golden Gate Bridge to travel over the Golden Gate Strait. They also built the San Francisco Bay Bridge to travel over the San Francisco Bay. In addition they built roads for transportationDepend- They depend on reservoirs, streams, and groundwater for fresh water.
