  4. 4. Performance• 20 minutes recorded• Repertoire should be varied• In-class performances, school-wide performances, out-of-school performance• Recorded every unit• Submissions collected March 2012, May 2012 & December 2013
  5. 5. Composition• SL submit 2 pieces, HL submit 3• Composing• Arranging• Music Technology Composing• Stylistic Composing• Will compose every unit• Submissions due May 2013
  6. 6. Analysis Paper • Set Works – Classical Symphony, Sergei Prokofiev – Piano Concerto, Xian • Music from Various Times, Genres – All Classical Periods – Jazz – Pop – American Musical – Music of various cultures: African, Asian, Middle Eastern
  7. 7. Forms of Assessment• Take-home assignments – Written paper/media script, Composition, Research, Theory Exercises• In-class assignments – Unit quiz, Theory Exercises• Performance – 2 per Unit, Graded by IB Rubric
  8. 8. Reference Guidelines• All research, presentations, written papers expected to comply with standards for referencing sources. MLA/APA format will be accepted. Any work not following referencing standards will not be graded.
