• The percent an amount increases or decreases from its original amount is the percent of change .
• So Percent of Change =
amount of change original amount
• Find the percent of increase from 4 to 7.5
• 1 st : amount of increase: 7.5 – 4 = 3.5
• 2 nd : set up fraction.
• Percent of increase =
amount of change original amount Divide to find the decimal. Move decimal 2 places to the right Percent increase from 4 to 7.5 is 87.5% 7.5 – 4 4 = 3.5 4 = 0.875 = 87.5%
