    1. Warm Up: 6.5
      • I roll three dice, 2 standard (6 sided) and 1 (4 sided) dice .
      • Tell me P(rolling an even number):
      • Tell me the ODDS in favor of a 2 or 4 being rolled.

    3. Percent
      • A PERCENT is a Ratio that Compares a number to 100.
      • Therefore, you can write a percent as a fraction with a denominator of 100.
      • If you can write it as a fraction, it means you can write it as a ratio, decimal, and percent as well.
    4. Write as a fraction or mixed number in Simplest Form.
      • 5%
      • 58%
      • 144%
      1 st : Write as the % over 100 #/100 2 nd : Simplify.
    5. Percent  Decimal
      • Write the Percent as a Fraction, with a denominator of 100, then Divide.
      • Remember Top Number goes in the House.
      • Bottom Number goes outside of the House.
    6. Try This
      • 9.7 %
      • 1 st : Don’t let the decimal percent phase you.
      • 2 nd : Put 9.7 over 100 to make a fraction.
      • 3 rd : Divide 9.7 by 100.
      • 4 th : your answer is 0.097
    7. Try These, Percent  Decimal
      • 16%
      • 62.5%
      • 120%
    8. Word Problem Alert
      • About 45% of the people in the United States have type O blood. Express this percent as a decimal and as a fraction in simplest form.
    9. Decimal  Percent
      • 1 st : Rewrite Decimal as a Fraction, with a denominator of 100.
      • 2 nd : Write the fraction as a percent.
      • OR
      • Move the decimal point two places to the right and add a percent sign!
    10. Try These: Use the First Method, Check your Answer with the Second Method: Decimal  Percent
      • 0.333
      • 0.023
      • 1.75
    11. Fraction  Percent
      • 1 st : Divide the numerator by the denominator.
      • 2 nd : Turn the Decimal quotient into a percent (using either of the previous two methods).
    12. Try This:
      • Five out of sixteen families in the Argentina own Penguins. What percent of families own Penguins?
      • 1 st : Write as a fraction.
      • 2 nd : Divide the numerator by the denominator.
      • 3 rd : Write as a percent.
    13. Try This One Too:
      • Three out of eleven families in Argentina own Tarantulas. To the nearest percent, what percent of families own Tarantulas?
      27%
    14. Assignment #46
      • Pages 302-303: 15-41 odd. 55-61 all.
      • Make sure you write these down correctly!
