  • 2. 1. The Animal dies
  • 3. 2.The animal goes down under the water
  • 4. 3. The flesh rots away
  • 5. 4.The bones get eaten by sea animals
  • 6. 5.Holes form
  • 7. 6.The holes get filled with rocks
  • 8. 7.Paleontologists dig it up
  • 9. 8.They put plaster all over the fossil
  • 10. 9. When the plaster has hardened the fossil is carefully turned over
  • 11. 10.Then they cover the next side with plaster
  • 12. 11.Then they carefully pull the fossil out
  • 13. 12. It gets cleaned and is taken to a museum.
